1980 GMC Coach, 40 foot Buffalo Model # H8H 649, SERIAL NUMBER 190; 8V71 w/ Jakes /Allison Automatic,

Her injectors and timing are set for a 67 MPH road-speed , and mountain useage. This Coach is located near Bend, Oregon and has Oregon Motor Home title, and expired plates, and is listed in the Family Motor Coach Directory.

Only 227 Parlor Coaches were built by GMC during 1980, before GMC surprisingly "quit" the coach business (after over 50 years), this is #190 of that 227, (only 37 before the last H8H GM was built).

She rolled out the door on the 4th of April 1980, and shipped to Amador Stage Lines in Sacramento, California; and was assigned to Amador’s Mid-Columbia Charters in Condon, Oregon where she plied the Northwest routes before being retired (by law) after 20 years in service, ( in 2000). She was then refreshed, and kept as an “emergency-need backup” unit, but only made three trips before her final sale in 2004 to the Clackamas County Electrical Inspector. (who wired her, and installed the breaker panels).

I purchased her in January of 2006 (after a clean inspection by Mid-Oregon Diesel), along with all of the service manuals, parts manuals, and service records … Her “Tag axle” was removed for extra cargo space and weight savings, as were the 60 seats and overhead racks, the obsoleted factory Air Conditioning system, and the original passenger toilet/washroom and holding tanks. The sliding two-piece GMC side windows were changed out with single pane “touring” windows from the Trailways’ fleet design, other than that, her hull is in all-stock configuration.

She weighs only 23,000 lbs, The tag axle compartment serves as a bay for a 250 gallon greywater tank, and a 250 gallon septage tank, plus 42 gallons of bulk propane, and misc. hookup storage.

The interior is mostly empty, but has the toilet and a rear double-size bed installed, the plumbing and electrical is roughed in to the living compartment (but fully completed below decks), a 46,000 btu forced air furnace, and a 6 gallon kitchen-only hot-water heater is installed, the front two cross-bus baggage compartments contain the fresh water tanks and pumps, and the electrical panel/breakers 115/230 (which consumes almost zero space), thus maximizing these two spaces for personal cargo and effects. these are huge compartments .. 8 foot wide by 6 foot 4" long by 3 foot 4" high EACH (totaling 340 cubic feet of storage!)

$5,000.00 as is, will accept multiple payments (on short term) … I will warrant driveability and condition as stated. I have personally put over 500 miles driving time (mountain, freeway, city) on this bus; It is not appropriate to expect driving time or lessons before purchase; with the insurances, licensing, not withstanding. (vehicles of this size weight and operational complexity are for experienced Diesel-savvy operators, only) … She is ready to drive away, and go cross country after plate update and insurance.

Sale is due to deaths in the family, and personal illness, (there are chains aboard), there are many spares and pieces aboard (too numerous to list), I will field any intelligent questions on condition, and offer supporting photographs to help in your evaluation (from afar). currently the rebuilt wiper air motors are not installed, there is a spare, and everything works.

I have been posting on CraigsList and eBay since they began (in 2004 and 1998 respectively), and used the Nickel, Shopper papers, local papers, the H.A.M.B., many online pages, local Auto Swap Meets, Portland Auto Swap Meet, my yard sales, and this blogsite with great success as I closed down for retirement.

Although there were always time-wasters and tire-kickers to contend with, the check bouncers, in 2010 the deadbeats, scammers and druggies have now really taken away our Oregon societies’ credibility;

The latest is … after posting an ad on CraigsList, (I usually have 20 or so posts) you always quickly receive what appears to be an automated message: “Do you still have this item ?' " Give me your telephone number.” or,''I want to buy your xxxxxxx now !, give me your telephone number.” sometimes instead of “give me your telephone #", they will say simply “call George at xxx-xxx-xxxx”.

The wordings are all identical ... if you call the number they offer, it always just rings.

But, either way they get your phone number (from their caller I.D., or you send it to them in an email), if you give them your number you will never receive a call back.

You will always receive this : " Ï want to buy your 1987 Crevloter Ampjak 4 Dr., give me your telephone number” or “do you still have this item ? give me your telephone number”, or, “”Do you still have the 1987 Crevloter Ampjak 4 Dr. ?, I am interested in buying it now !" , "give me your telephone number”

Why the interest in obtaining your phone number ? The reverse phone book yields your address (even for unlisted, and cell numbers), and allows for a long after the fact, easy burglary.

The other new thing that has come up over and over is the “no show”” … after giving very detailed driving instructions to your home, they simply never appear (but, they now know where you are).
Although I am pretty well protected with four dogs, locked gates, guns, and living out… and, since there is always someone home, "I" have had no problems. … but many sellers have come home some long time after their CraigsList ad expires, to find the item missing ! (Including Autos, Horses, Trailers, and a lot more).

So, I do not mean not to insult you, or to be rude, but, by not using the telephone, and by accepting only cash, and doing email "only" business, I am able to “know” and record "who" and "where" you are, (through my Danasoft.com "who are you" software recorder up there at the top,) ... and life is good. and, it is back to Oregon 1990.

Used two years, A frame and compressor unit both and the slab, came out of my rental 980 square foot modular home. These are matched units, by Nordyne the nameplate is sun-bleached on the compressor housing (or was never marked) the A frame is a CIQA 124U B unit and matches the pump, the slab and blower assembly go with this unt.... 50.00.
